The First Winter Wimp race of the new decade is in the books!
The 2020 Winter Wimp took place under abnormally high temperatures in the 60's, leading to a high turnout. 110 runners finished the race. First place winners for the 4.4 mile race were Jim Sweeney (men) and Madison Relyea (women). First place finishers for the 2.2 mile race were Milo Gifford (men) and Sarah Smith (women) You can find all the results on our . Results page.
Kathleen Goldberg won the Kay Guere Memorial Award, awarded to the first place finisher in the womens 60 year old age group in the 4.4 mile race. The award is named after longtime club member Kay Guere.
High school cross country awards were also handed out. Outstanding area cross country runner awards went to Shane Viscosi (boys) and Madison Relyea (girls). You can see their plaques here.

Thanks to the Hagaman Fire Department for the facilities and traffic control, Dan's Backyard Barbeque for the scrumptious food, Pagles Produce for the delicious fruit and fruit baskets, and all the volunteers that pulled off our largest race in some years with nary a hitch. See you next year!

Interested in a volunteer job with long hours, no pay, and no opportunity?
Just kidding. Our club treasurer, April Sheppard, is moving on. The club is looking for any and all volunteers that would like to fill the position. Duties include keeping track of the club's finances. Please contact any of the club officers found on our Contacts page if you are interested.

 The 2019 Mule Haul is History!
The Mule Haul took place Sunday, June 16 with moderate temperatures and rain -par for the course this summer. Isaac Menis took first overall for the men and Marisha Gennett was first overall for the women. Isaac Menis was the recipient of the clubs annual Dern Scholarship given to an outstanding area college bound senior. We said goodbye to Ron and Pat Robinson, who have labored tirelessly over the past eight years helping the club - they will be sorely missed. Results from the race are over on our Results Page.
The 2019 Lexington Run and Triple Crown races are in the books!
The Lexington Run (third  leg of the Triple Crown series) took place Saturday, June 8 under sunny skies and mild temperatures a beautiful day for a race. Greg Bogdan took first place in the mens division and Amanda Wilson finished first in the female divsion (deja vu all over again). This also concluded the Triple Crown races for this year. Awards and medals were given out for the Triple Crown winers. Congratulations to Jessica, Ronnie, Lisa and all the volunteers for another great effort this year. The 2019 Johnson Jog is in the books!
The Johnson Jog (second  leg of the Triple Crown series) took place Saturday, May 18 under sunny skies and mild temperatures a beautiful day for a race. Greg Bogdan took first place in the mens division and Amanda Wilson finished first in the female divsion. Congratulations to Ron and Pat, Jessica, Ronnie, Lisa and all the volunteers. Attention Members: Now that the nice weather is upon us, our club meetings will resume at Karen's Ice Cream and Produce on Route 5s near Fort Hunter. Meetings are monthly on the second Thursday at 6 PM.

The 2019 Winter Wimp is in the books! Temperatures moderated enough so there weren't a bunch of running popsicles.The race results are posted on our Results page. The usual suspects enjoyed the runs and the good apres run food.
Thanks to Dans Backyard Barbeque for the delicious vittles, Pagles Produce for the fruit and fruit baskets, the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department for all their assistance, and all the volunteers that make this race appear effortless every year.

Important Grand Prix Message: Because of a conflict with our annual Mule Haul on Father's Day, the Adirondack Distance run will not be an FMRRC Grand Prix event this year.

While we are welcoming our newest club secretary, we would be remiss if we did not thank our former, Jane Constantine who is stepping down. Jane has served in many capacities over the years for the club and always stepped up when needed. Her steady hand and capable attitude will be sorely missed. We wish her the best of luck going forward. Thanks Jane, and remember keep looking ahead :)

Get your running shoes on! Please join us for an FMRRC breakfast run in Broadalbin September 27 at 8 AM. We'll meet at the Visitors Center at the corner of Route 29 an Route 30. The route will be a 5K-ish run through Broadalbin and finish back at the Visitors Center. Breakfast and tall tales about distances and PR's will follow at a local restaurant.

Get your cleanup shoes on! The semi-annual FMRRC Road Cleanup will take place October 4 at 9 AM. Meet in the First Niagara Bank parking lot at the corner of Route 30 and Maple Avenue Extension in Amsterdam and find out what kind of stuff people use to litter! Breakfast and schmoozing will follow at a local restaurant.

Shuttleworth Park Foundation 5k is this Sunday (June 29th) - All proceeds benefit the foundation, race starts at 5:30 PM before the Amsterdam Mohawks game - Application - BONUS - Tickets to the baseball game afterwards.

Amsterdam HS track team competing in the New Balance National High School Championships - As a team they are competing in the 4 x 400m relay and Isaiah Brown will be continuing on as the State Champion in the 400m.

31st Annual Mule Haul is upon us! - FMRRC's premier summer race is this Father's Day, June 15th at 9:00 AM. Please join us for this 5 mile run on a mix of road and cinder track (tow path) along the Mohawk River. Partial proceeds benefit the Dern Memorial Scholarship for local High School Track and Cross Country students entering college next year. Awards for top 3 male and female finishers in 14 divisions as well as special Father-Son and Father-Daughter awards. Sign Up

Calling all Fulton/Montgomery County runners who plan on running in the Firecracker 4 in Saratoga July 4th. If you would like to join the local team contact Heather Casler at 518-848-6777 or Heather.Casler@smha.org, let her know once you have registered, and she can add you to the team. THE TEAM WITH THE MOST PEOPLE WINS!!! The Firecracker 4 will donate $1,000.00 to a charity - (either St. Judes or St. Balricks) - choice to be made if the team wins. WHAT AN EASY WAY TO HELP OUT DOING SOMETHING YOU LOVE!!!!! Please contact Heather by July 1st to make sure you get on the team.

Guest Speaker Announced - Our annual club banquet being held on January 26th at Nicolina's restaurant in Amsterdam will feature well known local runner John Geesler. John will share some of his more unusual running experiences with us. You still have one more day to get registered - here. Hope to see everyone there!
2014 Winter Wimp a success! - Despite the weather forecast, the 28th running of the Winter Wimp had a good turnout with 42 runners opting to "wimp out" and finish after 2.2 miles and another 112 runners going the distance and completing the 4.4 mile course in the chilly rain. Thanks to all who participated and supported us in one of our premier events!
A special congrats from our webmaster goes out to Jill Pederson from Lake George who was the first female over 60 and the winner of our Kay Guere Memorial Award. Jill finished in 40:45.
